THE WOODLAND PROJECT: A Work in Process
A collaborative, community art and woodland creation project in the heart of Lincolnshire.
From the seed of an idea to a flourishing project, I have worked with over 2500 school children on an Arts Workshop Programme exploring issues of growth, sustainability and biodiversity. Everyone involved has created a miniature artwork in the form of a leaf, and approx' 2000 trees have been planted during the planting events. The trees are growing into a woodland in the heart of Lincolnshire and in January and February 2017 the thousands of small leaf artworks formed the centre of my Woodland Project Exhibition at The Collection, Lincoln. I worked as Artist in Residence in the space producing my landscape paintings and drawings live and showcased the whole project including the Woodland Project film and extensive community involvement.
